We have great news… as of the writing of this article our students continue to make academic growth based on the Academic Performance Index (API)!  This is due to the diligent work by our students, the outstanding focus and efforts of our teachers and staff, and the on-going parent involvement and support that we are so grateful for here at Verdugo Woodlands! Congratulations to all our students and teachers for their continued success!

This year has been exceptionally challenging due to the state’s education budget crisis and the negotiations between the District and the Glendale Teachers Association (a tentative agreement was finalized last week pending a passing vote by he membership.) We do have some GREAT NEWS to share – all teacher layoffs have been rescinded or resolved by the District using the anticipated additional ARRA money from the Federal Government. This means that both Mrs. Wong and Mrs. Kingsbury will continue to be members of our VW faculty! Additionally, the district has reduced K-3 class sizes to 24:1 (student:teacher ratio in each class)!
